Here's where I put some links to some good game related sites. The links
aren't comprehensive, but they're enough to keep you busy. Look to Daedalus'
Labyrinth soon for a better games link section!
Game Companies
- 3DO, boy do THEY need help.
- Activision, I heard that
Interstate 76 is cool.
- AnimaTek, fine bunch of people, I
had the pleasure of working with them.
- Blizzard Entertainment, makers of
Diablo, Warcraft, and the StarCraft. One of the few independent developers
making good content left!
- Bullforg EA, or
- Bullforg UK, which is real
and which is propaganda? You decide. Yes, I know I'm spelling it 'Bullforg.'
- Capstone,
makers of Witchaven.
- Electronic Arts,
maybe the next evil empire!
- Epic MegaGames,
from pinball to Unreal, what will they do next?
-
High Voltage Software, Kerry listened to my ramblings when no one else
would, and he even bought me food at Baker's Square!
- Id Software,
Doom and Quake. No further comments necessary.
- Interactive Magic,
I guess you could call Wild Bill the Andrew Ridgely or Dave Stewart of
Microprose!
- Jaleco, USA, I did my time there,
and a good buddy of mine is still there. If you send any e-mail to
them, say 'hi' to Jarik!
- Lionhead Studios, this company
is Peter Molyneux's new operation. He did cool games with Bullforg, and
a nice guy named Andy asked me to link to their site!
- Looking Glass Technologies,
creators of Ultima Underworld I&II, System Shock, and the upcoming
Thief: The Dark Project!
- LucasArts Entertainment,
still a quality operation despite Rebel Assault.
- Maxis, Inc.,
Sim City, Sim Ant, Sim Etc. A multi-faceted company.
- Microprose,
Darklands, you had such potential, Civilization, you rocked so hard.
Sid, Wild Bill, where have you gone?
- Nintendo of America,
the ORIGINAL evil empire.
- Origin Systems,
Ultima III was still the best. Underworld I came close, though.
- Rocket Science,
check here for cool news!
- Sega of America,
the once Hatfield to Nintendo's McCoy.
- Sierra On-Line,
have these guys REALLY been doing the same engine for about
ten years now? Why do we keep buying it?
- Sony Electronic
Publishing, the up-and-coming evil empire.
- Spiderweb Software,
makers of the successful shareware series Exile for the Mac and Windows.
A great model of how product makes success.
