That's right, straight from Wrigley Field -- even though I'm not a Cub fan, it's better than any of these silly East Coast teams! -- it's the best links in town. Who can resist that beefy, juicy taste? And when it comes to links, these are a few of my favorite things (not covered in the other pages of this area).

• Shelter, my brother's page. He's been doing a lot of work lately, and his site really shows. Now that he's got a scanner and Photoshop, who know's what he'll come up with!

• November '98-July'00
  Well, seeing that it STILL is so topical and relevant to my current situation, why don't you go take a look at the facts of the Microsoft vs. DOJ case at the San Jose Mercury Virtual Courtroom. They've got the best coverage of the trial on a day-to-day basis. All of the players are spelled out, and they have legal analysis from the day's events.

• July-November '98
  If you're wondering where I get some of the music I have listed that I'm listening to, then you should look no further. Go to The Isolation Tank. They have the best selection of cool music available on the web. They're pricey, but if you're looking for something in ambient, techno, industrial, gothic, or weird, they're the place!

• May/June '98:
  Well, if symbolic art, strange corporations, and conspiracy theory are your things, then I've got just the site for you:
  
  The Schwa Corporation is not only a cool idea, but they have one of the coolest web sites that I've ever seen. It's a must explore.

• March/April '98:
  Are you tired of reloading a page link many times to get it to respond? Do you wonder why some days it takes longer to load your favorite pages than others? Well, The Internet Traffic Report can answer your questions! Check the status of a specific domain, check out graphs for recent traffic statistics, and see the status of major hubs all over the world! It's cool, be a geek like me, and go check it out. I wonder if they report traffic problems to their own site...

• February '98: Ok, I was doing a search looking for on-line IQ Tests, and I stumbled across a cool site, the BrainTainment Center. They have an on-line IQ test and other brain links, but the coolest thing they have is their brain enhancement software, ThinkFAST. It's basically a series of small challenges designed to increase mental speed and efficiency. Very cool, and it's worth the $40 for the program. I use it many times a week.

• December '97: CSICOP Home Page. This site is devoted to debunking and demystifying all of the cool things in the world. Seriously, they're a skeptical group of scientists who don't like conspiracy, the paranormal, and all of the other things that they should realize are the professional wrestling of the real world. They do have some interesting things to say, although I wish that they'd quit printing articles on how inaccurate the psychic predictions are in the tabloids -- duh!

• Alta-Vista, the best service for searching by keywords.
• Excite, how can they advertise for a free service? Does advertising help in a public offering for a free service? Isn't that pissing away profit to try and impress frugal bankers and investors?
• Lycos, another popular site. Web Crawler...Web...how witty!
• Yahoo, the original, and the best for searching by topic. They now have cool regional searching, too.

• General Sports Sites
• ESPNet Sportszone, the best sports site on the web. They have great news, scores, and stats for all the major sports (and a few minor ones!). And their stats are hard to beat for fantasy sports. Too bad Disney owns them!
• The Sporting News, a good paper, but I haven't checked their site out too much.
• CBS SportsLine, CBS bought this site in the hopes of making a name for itself on-line. It won't. Go somewhere else first. Besides, last I checked it was mostly a pay site.
• Sports Illustrated's SI Online, not too bad of a site, but not as timely as ESPN.
• CNN Sports, the leader in news helps you with sports! Ok site with good world coverage.


• Specific Sports & Teams Sites
• NBA.com, the official NBA web site. Good video library and good info on the teams. They should have info on the WNBA, too.
• Chicago Bulls, official site from NBA.com.
• MLB@Bat, the official site of Major League Baseball.
• ChiSox.com, the best baseball team in Chicago's site, the White Sox!
• That other team, oh yeah, there's another baseball team in Chicago, isn't there?
• NFL.com, the official site of the National Football League.
• 'Da Bears, everyone is still reliving the '85 Bears cuz there's no hope left!
• NHL Web Site, the official site of the NHL.
• Chicago Blackhawks, Roenick, Belfour, gone. Is Chelios next?
• WCW Wrestling, the official site of the coolest pro wrestling around, WCW.

• Spatula City, home of the famous Really Big Button That Doesn't Do Anything.
• Bianca's Smut Shack, yes, she's everywhere, but she's from Chicago so she's cool.
• Church of the Subgenius, Praise Bob!
• Schwa, The only corporation we approve of, mostly because they're watching us!
